It's best to ask the question of the tour people. If you have prepaid then there is the chance that you will not get a refund IMHO. Even though credit cards offer some protection if it is paid several months in advance it would be more difficult to invoke your privileges. OTOH most of the tour suppliers that you will read about on CC are honest. They depend on continued business for their livelyhood. I would still prefer to have a reservation and pay when we arrive. rich40245 Posted April 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Ask. Get it in writing (email). Then if something 'happens' you will have some proof to give to the credit card company. Rich
nitnyleo Posted April 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2009 If the refund policy of the operator is not on their website, I would write an email asking what the policy is (and saving the reply for future reference). Then I would book the tour. I missed a tour for Antigua once and the operator readily refunded my money . . . legit operators understand that ships are sometimes late . . . FishermanJim Posted April 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Most tour operators have a ¨no ship - no pay¨ policy and typically state it clearly on their web sites. I concur with all the above - if it is not written on the site where you book, ask them for a direct response to your question.
