JHealy28S Posted December 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2004 There's usually a teen center where the teen can meet other teens....there's sporting activities, pools, rock climbing walls, some ships with mini golf, etc. Plenty to do for all ages if you let yourself be open. There are also movies shown, basketballs, ice cream shops, and many more activities. Have fun!
caregiver4ever Posted December 1, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2004 We just got off the voyager a month ago and I had 2 kids.ages 17 and 18. The seventeen yr old was not allowed in the vault, which is the only disco on the ship. He was very disapointed but they make no exceptions. Basically thats the only club for adults that play young kids music. The good news is the Optix club for teens is where the both of them hung out. You will meet all kinds of friends, trust me. In 1 to 2 days you will have a group of friends to hang out with. The Optix is next to Johnny Rockets a kind of 60s diner where the kids ate at least 3 times a day. The Optix has music by request, a dance floor, t.v.s and private booths. My kids had a blast including the 18 yr old hanging out in the Optix. There werent too many kids when we cruised so the kids and their friends would request movies and the guy would play whatever they wanted. Plenty of girls and plenty of guys you will have a blast. Have fun, stay away from the kids who are doing wrong, you dont want to get in with the wrong kids and get in trouble and upset your parents. Have a safe trip. They have a teen disco, as he won't be allowed in the adult one. They have teen sports competitions all week! I would be suprised if he has anything less than a GREAT time! KamloopsCruisers Posted December 1, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2004 RCCL has great teen programs. Our daughter has made many great friends on past cruises. Teens get their own compass and there are a lot of fun activities that they can participate in. The kids also spend lots of time just "hanging out" chatting and dancing at the teen disco in the evenings. Lots of sports, and of course, girls, girls, girls for the guy and vis a versa. DH thinks that cruise vacations are "the best". We used to vacation in Hawaii every year - often taking (and paying for) a friends along for company for DH. It was always a worry when the girls would go out in the evenings. Cruising is a great family vacation - adults can have time to be together and the kids have lots to do - and there are always many (sometimes too many) other young people on board. Your son is going to have a ball.
Overtyme Posted December 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2004 Lot's of cute girls out there looking for guys to pass the time with at sea. Hang out at the club, go out on deck late at night for a smooch. If that's not what you're looking for, shoot some hoops, play some mini golf, go rock climbing high above the ocean, sit in the hot tub and relax, go ice skating, work out at the gym, get a sports massage in the spa, go swiming in one of many different pools, go to shows/concerts, play bingo (can't forget BIngo), go to Johnny Rockets, play air hockey or hang out at the arcade, or do what most hormone-ridden teenage boys do - chase cute girls around the ship
Shanafan Posted December 1, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2004 There is plenty to keep you busy. You will spend alot of time just getting to know the ship. There are plenty of things to do, and I can't imagine you will be bored. If you need a break--you can always go watch a sports game on one of the tvs in the 19th hole, which is close to the basketball court ( lots of pick up games going on there) or enjoy the pools. Have fun!
