atdahop Posted April 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2009 How much available credit do you need on your card when you board? This is for a 7 day cruise. Thanks

aurelius180 Posted April 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2009 As much or as little as you feel you will spend. I think they are referring to the amount of the hold placed on the card by RCCL. I know they contact the CC company each day and I believe they put a hold for the total of your Seapass card. I'm curious about the specifics because I had a card that was rejected midway through the cruise last year. The Pursers Desk said my CC company rejected my card that day because of the amount. I wonder how the hold is applied because I had more than enough credit on it, a zero balance when the cruise began. I assume the discrepency is in how the hold is applied. That card is limited to $900 for cash advances but the credit limit is much higher than that. I wonder if the hold is considered a cash advance until charged? I never bothered to contact the CC company to find out. Probably should have.
