ArmyWife82490 Posted April 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2009 After some debating, my SO and I are not sure if we want to go with the LaQuinta East due to it supposedly not being in a good area. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I've never been to Miami). So, I found Midtown Inn. BUT, IDK how that one is either. I've read some good reviews on tripadvisor, but am hoping that someone has stayed here. Last but not least, I'm always changing my mind, so any other hotels recommended that provide reasonable parking and a shuttle to the port?? Thanks in advance! rnnw62 Posted April 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2009 We stayed at La Quinta East in December and my opinion was it was a good deal for the money. I never felt unsafe and we did several walks to various places. Like any where in the world you just have to be aware. I thought the hotel itself was great. Room was clean and nice, the people working the desk seemed to want to please their guests, breakfast was good and the shuttle was ran in a very organized manner. Now what I didn't like....I just felt in the middle of no where with out having a car. They will shuttle you to a few restaurants but after the flight there we didn't feel like hopping on another shuttle. If your up for Pizza though there are many options slid under your door. I think I did read someplace that the Bennigan's in front of the hotel has reopened since my stay. There is noise from the airport that was noticeable but didn't prevent us from losing any sleep. Would I stay there again? If the price was right sure. Also, I think your were the one wanting to leave your car if I'm correct and there was a security guard shack at the hotel entrance that was manned that I noticed when we were on one of our walks. Don't know if it's manned 24 hours a day though...that's something you'd have to check on with the hotel directly. Hope this helps??
