Belizemama Posted April 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2009 I read somewhere on here about the cost of this ceremony being a lot. Can anyone give me an idea what they might charge for a vow renewal? We are on BTB cruises in Dec. on the Miracle. It is for our 40th anniversary and I have thought about having a renewal ceremony but didn't realize the cost might be prohibative. Any thoughts from someone who has done it?
steveNcindy Posted April 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Here is the info from Carnival, 2 packages to choose from: http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/weddings/weddings.aspx Can't offer any insight into them but you can check the Wedding Boards here for reviews. kiffrig Posted April 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2009 We looked at doing a vow-renewal package 2 years ago for our 10yr wedding anniversary and I want to say it was around $400 but I could be wrong. Call Carnival and speak with their wedding dept....they can give you a list of everything that is included in the price, as well as the price. We opted not to do the vow renewal, unfortunately, but I hope it works out for you!
Belizemama Posted April 7, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 7, 2009 I want to thank you for the help. I did go to the Carnival site to see their info. All the times i have been on there I never knew that topic was there.... duh!! It is a little more than we may have left by the time we pay for the 2 cruises, but I hope we can do it. We will have 4 other couples on the ship with us, so it would be perfect. And yes, you were right. It is (around $400) for the smaller ceremony. Here is the print from Carnival for anyone else who may wonder. : Say "I do again". cookc61462 Posted April 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2009 We got the deluxe package. It is over 700 bucks. We are sailing on the Fantasy in May. Our 30th. I wasn't going to do it since it was SOOO expensive, but when we married 30 years ago, I don't think we spent 300 for the total wedding AND honeymoon! This is a VERY special occasion for us. Our kids will be with us and my BFF and her DH. It's only money :o

We were sailing on our own, so we felt it wasn't worth the money for just the 2 of us...but if we would have had friends sailing with us, it might have been different. LynneL Posted April 9, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2009 There was a thread on this probably a couple of months ago. Try "Search" & maybe you could read some opinions on it. If I remember correctly, there weren't many that did renewal on Carnival - a few people did Princess renewals (including myself & DH), but package basically the same....except Princess was cheapter ($205. but no music, no cake). If you can swing the $ then go for it. My husband originally thought it was such a waste of $ and insisted it would be better spent in the casino. I thought how easily he could lose that in the casino & not blink an eye (or what you spend on junk during the year that adds up to that) & decided that it was our 25th ann. & this was the one time I wasn't backing down. It was worth every penny & if I had paid $385 (the Carnival price) I still would say it was worth it. We also had family (our children) & friends with us & that made it even more special. In the end, my husband really was glad we did this & was telling more people about it than I. It really gives you a moment to bring yourself back to that place in time you were at all those years back & remember why you're together now. Hope you go for it! Belizemama Posted April 10, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted April 10, 2009 Thank you LynneL. I have begun to think it will be worth it also. We had a small wedding 40 yrs. ago and this seems like it would be nice to do with our group of good friends there.:)
