Driving to the NYC Pier

Wondering where we would get dropped of at the pier? Will we have a lot of walking- so I can be sure all our luggage has wheels Thanks!

If you are driving you will be dropped off at the entrance to the pier building either in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Its about like walking from the car drop off at an airport to the gate(mostly its closer at the pier than most airports to the gate)....its not too far really... IN Manhattan I would say its about 200-300 feet until you are actually on the gangway and about the same in Brooklyn...

 

Its longer in Bayonne that is why they use a shuttle there but the total you walk there is not significantly less or more than the two in NYC...

If somebody else is driving you, they will bring you right to the pier and then there will porters there to take your bags. If you are driving yourself, there will be a little walk but not too far. As for wheels, if you are driving yourself and don't want to carry bags for maybe 5 min. they would be a good idea.
