Trelaig Posted April 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2009 Last year we had an excellent cruise on the OV1 (a adults 2 children who are now aged 9 & 11). We fancy doing a cruise again this summer but availability is limited. Thomson is coming up with a few vacancies so we thought we'd seek feedback! How do they compare and what is the childrens programme like on the Thomson cruise? Any advice on Thomson cruising would be appreciated, so thanks in advance..... sobral Posted April 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2009 We have sailed on Thomson ships several times in last few years and I have to say they cannot be faulted for service, food, entertainment, staff- just about everything! I think you will find many likeminded cruisers on here. I have never cruised OV so cant compare but have always had an absolutely brilliant time on Thomson ships- always in the Med and during summer holidays. Kids always seem to be well entertained in Kidszone etc. Am sure you wont be disappointed if you go with Thomson- enjoy!
capasamari Posted April 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Thomson's kids clubs are for children up to 12 years old so yours will be well catered for. Carol x

Shelledpea Posted April 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Hi, We've sailed OV 3 times & Thomson twice. The food is better with Thomson & I prefer the evening table service but the major difference is in the childrens facilities. Don't expect anything as comprehensive as that offered by OV it just doesn't happen. They offer the club 5 days aweek with about 2 x 3hr sessions a day in rooms that are about the size of 3 standard cabins opened up. Still my children have always enjoyed themselves and there are always the in cabin movies for later Regards Shell
