Sending Guavaberry Rum Home

Anyone had experience with buying Guavaberry rum and sending it home from there? With all the luggage restrictions would like to know if there is a fed ex or something where we could accomplish this.:D

The Emporium no longer will ship the bottles, I guess they used to.

I am also looking for the Guavaberry Daquiri recipie !

Please help us poor guavaberryless people get our quota of rum home;)

FedEx, DHL, etc. all the normal carriers have a presence on the island. But they are all extremely expensive.

In addition, you lose any duty free exemption that you would receive when you personally bring the liquor back into the country.

CBP: Shipping alcoholic beverages through a courier is permitted, however, duty will be collected on the entire shipment (there is no duty exemption for alcohol not accompanying a traveler), and the courier will probably charge handling and customs broker fees that could significantly raise the cost of the shipment.

They used to ship to the US, but that ended about a year ago as I recall.

For the recipes, they are still available at the Guavaberry website:

Guavaberry Daiquiri. Old favourite may be blended till frothy or shaken with ice. Use 2oz Sint Maarten Guavaberry, 2oz lime juice, 1 tea spoon sugar. Garnish with slice lime and maraschino cherry.

Thanks for the info. I guess we may need to weigh the cost of an extra suitcase and the $25 airport fee. (Although I really hope to book SW and that will take care of that worry)

First nice day I'm going for the Guavaberry Daquiri:p
