Too Cold on Balcony in August?

Recommended Posts

Looking to sail from Sydney mid August 2010. 10 days south pacific. Would it be too cold out on the balcony at that time of year?

Thanks

Kylie

Hi Kylie,

it would be cold going out of and comming back to Sydney but around the Islands it would be fine....virtually from your 1st to your last port would be ok .

cheers

We had a balcony in Oct/Nov for a cruise to Tahiti, and for part of the trip it really was too hot and humid to leave the balcony door open. In August it should be beautiful, but it will be cool on the first and last days. As the ship sails further north it will warm up a lot. :):)

Had a balcony cabin in August last year, it was great. As previously said it's only really leaving and coming back to sydney that its cool. Just brilliant for the rest of the cruise particularly approaching/leaving ports. Take a pair of binoculars if you have them, it's amazing what you find. We watched the families coming to see us off in Vila, arriving by the ute load, you could see the huge smiles & the waves they gave us as we were leaving, it was so nice, I felt really teary!

Can't remember if it was Wala or Ouvea but as we were leaving I spotted a couple of what looked like mansions, seemingly in the middle of nowhere!

We're booked on Pac Jewel to NZ in FEb '2010 - definitely a balcony!:)
