Ocho Rios Sunset Grande AI cruise passenger rate ? ? ?

Has anyone been to the Ocho Rios Sunset Grande all inclusive (AI) as a cruise passenger recently? In particular, what it cost. We'll be there on May 5th on the Triumph. I've searched the threads, and the rates seem to be all over the place! I even emailed them, and was further confused. Years back, we did the Sunset at MoBay, and it was great.

About a 10 minute walk, so a short cab ride.

Thanks for the info., and great pics. I'm pretty sure we are going to spend our day there. Quick ? about the water. It isn't rocky or full of coral is it? I hate running into water to only realize it hurts my feet. How long ago were you there?

No rock for sure! I was there is 2005 and 2006 after it was completley renovated. However I have been going to this resort for the past 15 years.

Yes, I do have pics of just about everything :-)

Is it walkable? My DH is wanting to walk it. Do you think the locals will bother us on our trek SJG? Glad to see the great pics of the clear rock free water!:D

Yes, it's walkable. At the very most 15 minutes if you stroll.

YES, the locals will ask you to buy or look at something

Keep in mind you will be one of hundreds in the place

Walk as if you are on a mission (the swim-bar) and say NO to any offers

To walk, make a left from the port and continue down.

On your way there is a grocery store that sells Blue Mountain coffee

Across the street beside the Burger King, you have an internet café

If you were going next summer, you will find me, a toursit/local:D

I could get you through Ocho Rios without anyone asking to buy anything or try to sell you anything.

As for what you smell, can't do much;)

Bottom line don't look intimidated or afraid of being approach.

What some tourists put down as pushiness is really apart of the culture

Most Jamaica have no problem approaching the dead for something (I am one)

It's not like they are going to have much use for it:D

That makes some people very uncomfortable.

If you go the cab route there are many available at the port at outside the resort.

Negotiate before you get in.

Hope this helps

We've been to the Dominican several times and Mo'bay once, so we have a pretty good idea how to be polite enough, but get our point across that we are not interested. Good to know where I can get Blue Mountain coffee, I think it will make a good gift for our parents. I f I have any more ?'s I will be looking for you. Thanks! ucmom
