Cayman Islands

Georgetown has loads of shops and restaurants. It is worth strolling around. The Post Office is only two blocks inland from the tender pier. This could be a good spot to send some post cards. Their are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. You can snorkel at Eden Rock which is only a quarter mile south of the tender piers.

Grand Cayman has an interesting public transportation system. Vans operate that you just hop on, and hop off. You can take one from the tender pier up to seven mile beach and spend the day for a few dollars per person each way.

Without booking an excursion, we did not find anything we wanted to do, any suggestions on things to do on our own, going in July on the Legend. Thanks Joann

So much to do there, GC is one of my favorite ports. This is a tender port that is sometimes skipped due to rough seas, but if you are lucky enough to visit, be sure to take advantage!

How far is Seven Mile Beach from the port? Would you have to take transportation there or could you walk? If so, are there any nice beaches that are closer?

The south end of the beach is a hike from the tender dock. Take the bus as Yst said, or you can rent a car. Andy's is nearby and will pick you up from the dock. Be aware that this is left sided driving so stick with public trans if you are not too confident about driving there.

The taxi busses are $4 per person, per direction... This is to the closest public beach access, but I would suggest going further out (about $6). The beach we went to was pretty dirty, crowded, and not cheap for chairs & such.

Other than that, you can easily waste a few hours in the downtown area right off the tender docks.

Next time, I would rent a scooter and explore.
