Beth and Sofi,

If we want to spend a day at the Finisterra Hotel...how much does it cost? and is the food at the hotel expensive? Can we rent towel there or do we have to carry one from the ship?

The Splendor only dock their from 7am to 2pm. I want to spend a few hours there for the kids to swim.

Thanks,

Tibbie

Although BobSophie and a few others have reported that they were able to go to the Finisterra and use their pool, that is not the norm. You are surely able to go to any of the resorts and use the beaches (all public) and eat in their restaurants but many times not use the pool as it is for paying guests and in this case owners of the timeshare. We own at the resort next door to the Finisterra and have been asked for a room number just when we brought a drink that we had payed for at their bar and sat in a pool chair. We were told that the pool was for guests only. This makes total sense at any hotel as you can imagine that if you paid alot of money to stay at a resort, you wouldn't want to find other people sitting in the chairs there.

That said, it is still very, very slow in Cabo right now so they may welcome you with open arms. Just wanted you to be prepared that if the resort is busy you may be turned away. Think of how crowded the pool chairs are on the ship, what if they allowed others to also use the pool when it was in port- the cruise passengers would not be happy!

You are correct, of course, househunter. We may no longer be welcome now as we were 4-5 years ago. I'm sure the area is built up more and they have to be more restricted.

I have not looked at the ship's excursions yet to see if they offer a Beach Day in Cabo at a resort. We did this in Acapulco and it was wonderful!
