bruce-r Posted May 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2009 I've already written my opinions. You can read them -----> HERE
Pilot70D Posted May 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2009 Here is link to an older thread where a number of us posted some very good information covering the direct booking VS. ship's excursion issue thoroughly. So, look at this thread and then form your own opinion. No one will know better what suits you than you will. Good luck and enjoy that next dive excursion no matter how you book it. ***************************************************** http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=826975&highlight=
rsldonk Posted May 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2009 What Bruce-r said plus something. Most rental gear (anywhere you go) is hammered and generally garbage. If you own your own gear, even if you book with the ship's excursion, you will have a much better time with your own gear instead of something that is as beat up as about anything you'll ever find with any dive operator anywhere in the world. While rental gear is generally serviceable and will generally work, if you're always fighting your gear, it really takes the fun out of a dive. Not to mention, for what you spend on your gear, why wouldn't you use it?
