AussieTJ Posted May 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2009 G'day Everyone Going to to docking in Mazatlan in late June on the RCI (if nothing changes due to swine flu) Just want to know how far it is from the cruise terminal to the shops, can we walk or do you need a taxi. Just doing the tourist shopping Thanks Tania:)
cruisdog Posted May 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2009 From where you dock, there are free shuttle buses that take you to the portside shopping area, you cannot walk it, because Mazatlan is a working port and they don't want you wandering around. You have to pass thru the shopping area to reach the exit into town. At the exit area are taxi, shuttle buses and mini vans for rent. You can arrange tours of the town here or take taxi to downtown. But it is about a 15 minute cab ride into the heart of Mazatlan where all the main shopping, beaches and resorts are. Take the open air type of cab called a pulmonia. Kind of like an oversized golf cart- much more fun!
Nancyquilts Posted May 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 8, 2009 There are shops and a market down town, and further out along the beach is the "Golden Zone" for expensive things.
