The wife will only do ship's or hotel's excursions when abroad. (she feels more secure). The more experienced cruisers will tell you to organsie your own trips but as it's your 1st time (like us with Royal Caribbean) you might want to do the ship's even though a bit more expensive. We'll be off a few days after you on Legend from Rome to the Eastern Med.
