pullman/sofa bed combo vs 2 pullmans

Our first cruise with our family of four we had an E1 room on the serenade. Our room configuration had a pullman bed and a sofa bed.

I understand there are rooms with two pullmans and rooms with one pullman and one sofa bed.

Questions to those that have experienced both, which configuration do you prefer and why? Where is the second pullman located?

We prefer the 2 pullmans. The sofa bed is not as comfortable as the pullmans, IMO.
