Uxmal and other?

Well my GF and I really want to hit some ruins, with Uxmal being the top of the list. We are looking at booking at the pier as many seem to say it is very easy to do (can anyone recommend the price I should be bargaining for?). We would also love to get to the Merida Cathedral if possible but I am thinking this timing wise would not be possible. Can anyone confirm?

On a port call there just won't be time to do both. Uxmal is the best of the Ruins, IMO and I love Merida. For a first visit, Uxmal.

I would set it up in advance or at least let the tour company know of your interest. The tour company we used would only do the tour if there were 8 people and they helped us communicate in advance with other people to make the 8. W paid either $49 or $54

We had 4 in our group and did both Uxmal and Merida. The church in Merida is downtown near the market. I highly recommend shopping in the market. The streets in downtown Merida are narrow. Your guide will tell you not to spend too long at Uxmal. I wouldn't spend over 2 1/2 to 3 hours there in order to go to Merida. It can be done; however, you need to book a guide ahead of time. We loved Uxmal.
