SB007 Posted May 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2009 Does anyone know if passengers on the SUN have access to a microwave oven during the cruise? (One member of our party sleeps with a "Magic Bag" -- a cloth bag filled with buckwheat -- that is heated up in the microwave.) It sounds like there are limited electrical outlets available in the cabin, for plugging in an electric heating pad... Many thanks, Bob
wrp96 Posted May 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2009 No, there is no microwave oven access for passengers. If they need a heating pad, look into ThermaCare wraps.
fin Posted May 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2009 It was on the Sun that I gave a bag of microwave popcorn to the room steward to pop for us. He obligingly returned with a smoking hole filled with burned popcorn, as I had not told him how to listen to the pops. You should have better luck with yours. We tipped him anyhow. If you go with this option just be sure and take a long extension cord for reach flexibility. Cheers, ~Joyce
bjohio Posted May 17, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2009 I am going to take a power strip to make up for the lack of outlets.
SB007 Posted May 17, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted May 17, 2009 ThermaCare wraps -- check. No microwave popcorn -- check. :) Hot water bottle -- check. Electric heating pad, with long extension cord and extra power strip -- check and check. Thank you all for your helpful suggestions! Your advice is much appreciated. This is going to be a great cruise, thanks to CC members!
