In Belize they generally use faster (and smaller) tender boats for transfer to the dock. The cruise ships anchor much further out than most other ports.

 

I have never seen toilets on these boats. It seems to me that the transfer time is about 15-20 minutes.

When we tendered into Belize a couple of months ago, the boats they used are fast. There are no restrooms, but there are areas at the front and back of the boat that are open. The middle area is covered. They do pack people in, so if your friend is claustrophobic, you may want to make sure you are in one of the open area where she can get air and may not feel so closed in.
