MSC Fantasia boarding in Barcelona

Does anyone know where the ship docks in Barcelona? Is it enough just to ask the taxi to take you to the port, do you need a specific address? How close will the taxi be able to drop off passengers? What should the expected cost of a taxi from the airport to the port? How difficult would it be to take the train or bus from the airport to the port with luggage?

Will arrive 7ish in the morning. Any ideas how long it will take to get to the port? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scarlet :)

Scarlet:

Last time we cruised out of Barcelona the airport was about a 30 minute ride from the dock. Apparantly there are two locations for ships to dock. We are also on the cruise by arriving Tuesday. I also know there is a train from the airport to downtown that is inexpensive and fairly easy to use.

You may find these websites useful.

You are arriving early so it may be possible for you to travel to the train station, store your luggage there & explore a little before embarking.

You may be able to get more detailed information if you ask on the Med board here.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I'm still trying to find out exactly where the Fantasia will dock. Think we will try the train or bus into the city. There will be 4 of us, three adults and one child. Hope to meet outer cruisecritic members on board the cruise.

Thanks again,

Scarlet

It might be difficult to find exactly where the Fantasia docks. It may dock in one particular berth 90% of the time, but is also dependent on what other ships there are in port on a particular day.

Perhaps some-one who has sailed on the Fantasia may be able to identify the 'usual' berth from the map I gave above (& below. :)).

I thnk it was the Qual Adossat Terminal from the diagram but I'm really not certain. We used the MSC shuttle bus, so didn't really pay that much attention

AmoMondo,

Do you remember how much the MSC shuttle was? There will be 4 of us and we're thinking of getting a taxi, but if the shuttle would take us directly to the ship that would be better.

Thanks, for all the info. We are excited about the up coming trip!

The return fare was 6 euros for adults and 4 for under 12s. they had a very frequent service. You have to buy the tickets onboard at the tour desk. However if you are just boarding in barcelona, that probably is not going to be an option for you.
