Hey, my dad has non-hodgkins, which is likely terminal. His onc. is sending him to Houston and I am looking to Priceline a room..... except I don't know which section of town to choose.

Reliant Park-Med Center would be the closest area. Downtown might also work - as you could take the light rail back and forth if you didn't have a car. If you are going to have a car, the Galleria would also work, although that area is probably not as close as the other two.

So sorry about your father, but coming to M.D. Anderson is the best thing he could do. Several family members and friends have been treated at that hospital and there are some "miracle" stories coming out of there.

Let us know the actual hotel choices you have and I'm sure we locals will do all we can to help you make your stay here as convenient as possible.

You are so sweet, thanks. I'm o.k. I have no regrets with my relationship with my father and while I am so very sad right now, I have accepted that this likely isn't going to have a happy ending. But he wants to leave no stone unturned, so he will be there next week.

Their winning bid was 49.00 for the Holiday Inn, Astrodome/Reliant Center/MD Anderson. The website says it is 1.44 miles from the medical center and they have a van that runs people back and forth. I think this will work well for their needs.

:DThere are hotels in middle of med center and you walk to hospital.

There is also a rail line right thru med center running north to/from south

from the astro dome area to downtown. Med Center is in center of line.

Get motel on east side of dome Reliant Stadium on fannin st and ride rail and you won't pay for parking in med center.

You can also walk maybe from the Holiday Inn to Rail Line across Dome/Reliant

Stadium Parking lot.

HI may have shuttle also!!!!!
