WINDSTAR UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE DESIGN WITH 3-D DECK PLANS, 360-DEGREE SHIP TOURS, NEW VIDEO AND MORE

 

 

Seattle, WA, December 1, 2004 – Windstar Cruises has re-launched http://www.windstarcruises.com with new high-tech tools and a user friendly format to guide visitors to the desired information quickly.

 

“Visitors to our new website will get a much better feel for the luxury, small-ship cruise experience unique to Windstar’s fleet of three motor sailing yachts,” says Tony Scoringe, Windstar’s director of marketing services. “Guests will find the site easier to navigate with better visual elements and overall organization.

 

The new site design features rotating photography on the home page with cruise specials prominently displayed for quick searches. An expandable tool bar allows users to quickly find what they are looking for without searching through multiple pages. Cruises may be searched by destination, ship or date. Port descriptions and shore excursion information are accessed from each itinerary. Cruise specials and promotions are prominently displayed on the home page and visitors also have access to cruise planning assistance.

 

New electronic elements bring the ships’ unique character alive and pass along a sense of the line’s renowned casual elegance. Visitors may span the layout of the ship and gain a real sense of onboard spaces, amenities and ambiance with the 360-degree virtual reality ship tours. Deck plans pop up in 3-D and a new six-minute video is available in English and French.

 

New electronic brochures, called SailGuides, are available online and may be customized by sailing or destination. Guests can create their own custom SailGuide based on their intended destination with itinerary, map and shore excursion information. This can be emailed to friends and family.
