Port side or Starboard side staterooms?

Is either side a better side to have with a balcony when pulling into ports? I know that may sound like a dumb question but I really don't know anything about cruises seeing how my first is coming up. My room is I believe on the Port side on deck 7 on the Valor, it is a even numbered room.

It doesn't matter. We've been port once and starboard once and it just depends on which side they dock.
