homeinca Posted May 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2009 We are a family of 4 with two boys age 10/12. We are first time cruisers! Our POC are Cabo, Mazatlan, PV. We would like to do a couple beach days(lounge chairs and restaurants, boogie board rentals). Don't need the pool. And... a fun excursion the other day. I know my boys would love the ATV or Dunne Buggie excursions, but companies suggest being 12 yrs old? Any idea why? He wouldn't be driving. Not sure about the zip-line...yikes!! Maybe a really nice snorkeling excursion? Thanks!!!
bzy1 Posted June 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2009 I would highly recommend Las Caletas if you are going to Puerto Vallarta. Las Caletas is only accessible by boat and is south of the city in a gorgeous area (This used to be John Huston's private residence) The trip on the boat there is glorious, you often see dolphins and mantas on the way there or whales in whale season (December through March) and you go past the Malecon down to Los Arcos and the south shoreline. The Las Caletas tour offers a lot of variety for families. Great food, snorkeling, kayaking, paella cooking lessons, massage (you can book on the boat- it is extra$) and even snorkle with a sea lion (extra$ also but so cool!) - parents can relax on a hammock while the kids play right there in the ocean- there is also hiking and some other fun stuff. Plenty of diversity and you get a lot out of one tour. I always send friends and family there and they always rave about it. Good for all ages! gambler Posted June 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Can you get to Las Caletas without booking a tour? Is it a full service beach area?
