Excursion or beach on own

DH and I are on the Liberty in Oct and visiting STT for the first time. I have read extensively over these boards on what to do...and am unsure. We have thought about hanging out at Emerald Beach for the day but feel like we would be missing that beautiful Carribean water if we didn't do a snorkel/excursion that would take us out. Any suggestions? I have looked at Jolly Mon, Island Girl, Rumbaba, etc. I have even checked out Carnival's Castaway Barefoot Snorkel (?). Help! :) The only thing I didn't like about Rumbaba was taking a taxi...I'm sort of paranoid about being back on the ship in time.

Well if you go to the beach you will still be enjoying the water :). Beach day is nice, sailing trip is nice too... perhaps plan a beach day in one port and then a boat trip in another. Either one would be a good choice for your day in St. Thomas.
