YumPo Posted June 8, 2009 #27 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Hi Kirbster, Johnny and Take Four were the best band for ballroom; we tried to dance whenever and wherever they were playing. However, every night there was an opportunity for ballroom dancing, either in one of the clubs (the best being the South Seas lounge), or the Centrum (small, but okay in a pinch). Plus, when we cruised May 21st thru May 30th, ballroom dance lessons were offered many days, and sometimes twice a day; the instructor and his partner (his wife) were very good and very nice people. They were always dancing in the evenings to Johnny and Take Four, and would often dance with other people as well (perhaps they were old friends, or they could have been new friends they made while on the cruise). kirbster Posted June 9, 2009 #28 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Thank you YumPo for the Grandeur ballroom report! We will seek out Johny and Take Four wherever they are hiding on the ship. Hopefully, we will be blessed with some dance lessons. Out of curiosity, does the band play the full realm of dances or do they mostly stick to Swing & Foxtrots (a.k.a., winery dancing)?? YumPo Posted June 10, 2009 #29 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Hi Kirbster, Johnny and Take Four play everything: waltz, foxtrot, rumba, cha-cha, swing, jive, and even quickstep (!). They play a good selection of each, so I think you will really enjoy them and get a chance to try all your steps!
