I thought it was 4pm also when I booked it.At least I am not imagining it.:) But that black cloud that follows me is forming already. Steve
GoinCruisin Posted December 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I was under the impression that it was an isolated thing, but I guess not? That really blows! I was not happy to hear we would be leaving so late, but from what I understand, we can board around 1'ish... if that is the case, I'll be happy! We're booked on the March 20th sailing of the Miracle, and we haven't heard anything about a change in departure time from Tampa. Carnival still lists 4:00 pm as the departure time on their website, as it also does for your cruise, GC. What's up????? Does anyone know the reasoning??????
GoinCruisin Posted December 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Don't know the reasoning, TA informed us of this. But now it seems it is not just our cruise... so I have no clue. Confused here as well!!!

Guest Time2gocruzn Posted December 14, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2004 If that is the case, won't that change the arrival time and departure time of all the other ports?
kujobie Posted December 14, 2004 #9 Share Posted December 14, 2004 If that is the case, won't that change the arrival time and departure time of all the other ports? Possibly but not necessarily. Ships don't always run at full power between ports, so they can often make up for lost time.
Guest Time2gocruzn Posted December 14, 2004 #10 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I went to the Carnival site and signed in. Checked my cruise details for our cruise 03/06 and it still says 4pm. Hmmmm...strange!
GoinCruisin Posted December 14, 2004 #11 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I am looking at my brochure for 2005/2006, it states that the Miracle will leave from Tampa at 8PM on 2/13...

Sometimes I think you just love to disagree with me.... http://www.carnival.com/Itinerary.aspx?embkCode=TPA&itinCode=GMF&durDays=7&sailDate=3/6/2005&shipCode=MI&sailingID=24196&subRegionCode=CW GoinCruisin, Your cruise is the week following the Super Bowl, and I believe that the Miracle is being used in Jacksonville for an additional "hotel." Perhaps this is one of the reasons for the change in your departure time.
GoinCruisin Posted December 14, 2004 #13 Share Posted December 14, 2004 There are two listings on CCL for the Miracle, one shows 8 and one shows 4, since all the ones in Jan/Feb seem sold out, I cannot tell which is which.... all the open ones in March and after are showing 4, but ours is 8, and is stated as such in the catalog... Cruising89143 Posted December 14, 2004 #14 Share Posted December 14, 2004 It may have something to do with the fact that the Miracle has been chartered by the city of Jacksonville for the upcoming Superbowl as a floating hotel. The Superbowl is the first Sunday(2/06) of Feb. It then is doing a three day cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale on 2/09 and then back to Tampa. The ship is due to head back to Tampa on Saturday after the passengers debark in FLL.
GoinCruisin Posted December 14, 2004 #15 Share Posted December 14, 2004 That is the reason I heard... but it sounds like Steveaaaaa's ship is leaving at 8PM too? I thought it was just due to the schedule of the post super bowl thing...
Blndiebby25 Posted December 14, 2004 #16 Share Posted December 14, 2004 My cruise is booked for 12/11/05 and it says we are leaving at 4pm but earlier when I signed in to check when I first saw this thread it said 8pm. Not sure what is going on, maybe another glitch with the site. Weird.
disneylynn Posted December 14, 2004 #17 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I am going on the Miracle the week after Goincruisin, It saids that we leave at 4pm. (It has to be because of the Super Bowl)

Same site,I just got in differently. I do see your link reads 4pm. I went to Carnival.com,funships,miracle,(scrolled down to W.Carib) and chose the first w.carib and it shows some sailings(not mine, only 1 in Jan.,2 in Feb.) for 4pm. I went back and chose the second w.carib and it shows 8pm but no sailings. Steve:confused:
TVMet Posted December 14, 2004 #19 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I just talked to someone who was on the Thanksgiving week cruise, he said they left at 4 pm and went under the Skyway bridge at 6:30 pm
slnsap Posted December 14, 2004 #20 Share Posted December 14, 2004 The ship leaves at 8pm because the Florida Marlins are coming on board and everyone has to wait for them to get there. I know this because I am being married on the ship that day.
momofmeg Posted December 14, 2004 #21 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I have been on a couple of cruises that had later departures. It is no big deal unless you are dying to get into the casino. In fact you can leave ship and return before sailing. Heck if you get bored you can take a visit to the aquaruim next door.
serene56 Posted December 14, 2004 #22 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Steve: Check and see where the Miracle is gonna be the week before- If its still Tampa- it may be a glitch. But the Miracel on our cruise will leave later because of the Superbowl and the cruise following right after. THey have to drop the people back off at Jacksonville before it comes back to Tampa. Something I wish I would have known before I booked flights-- coz then I woulda went down the same day as the cruise had I known all that.
