trescomania Posted June 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2009 We are first time cruisers and have booked the Oceana cruise from Barbados-Grenada-Margherita-Bonaire-Aruba- Panama- Puerto Quetzal-Huetalco-Acapulco and I have panic attacks thinking about it! I would appreciate ideas and tips from anyone who has been on similar. Thanks trescomania
OldJerseycruiser Posted June 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2009 Trescomania, I have just booked this cruise for January 2011, so look forward to your review. If you haven't already looked, you will find lots of reviews and information about the Panama Canal on the P & O website (Community board.) Hope this helps! ukcrusing Posted June 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Did virtually the same Iternary on Acadia, and have to say apart from the flight back from Acaplulco, it was probably the most enjoyable cruise I have done on P&O. Sailing through the canal is a fantastic day
Scorpio1411 Posted June 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2009 We did this cruise a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. We had a great time, the weather was lovely, the people were friendly and, except for booking a couple of trips, we did our own thing at all the ports. There's also a friendly little bar we found in Puerto Quetzal run by a Cuban couple which makes lovely mojitos at a very cheap rate. ;)
PRIORY ROAD Posted June 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 8, 2009 We too are considering a Panama Cruise in 2011, just deciding which company to go with, P&O, Princess or Celebrity. Any tips/thoughts greatly appreciated.
Cheshire J & P Posted June 9, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Hi We did this cruise in Feb on Oceana, it was one of the best holidays we have had. Don't worry you will have a great holiday & Oceana is one of the most friendly ships. If you have any questions just ask. J & P:)
Sikwemu Posted June 10, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 10, 2009 It's a really fabulous cruise and, for me, one of the best things was sitting on the balcony(or on deck) in the early mornings just looking at the views. They are evrything you have ever read!
