Knightcruiser Posted December 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2004 In looking at the deck layouts for the Dawn, it appears that 8172, which is just below 9236, is larger (they are both category AE) both in room and balcony size. Is this just the particular deck plan I'm viewing or does anyone know if it is actually larger?
Chuck & Phyllis Posted December 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Don't know about the suite interiors. The balcony area is different on each deck. Deck 10 the deepest, followed by Deck 8, with Deck 9 the shallowist.
JohnL1935 Posted December 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2004 We were in 8670 last year. This was the corner cabin. I don't know about the size of the cabin above but 8670 was very large. However, the balcony was small. It was about 3 feet deep where we connected with the inner cabin (8672) and gradually was reduced to about 1 1/2 feet at the corner. The inner cabin seemed to be about 3 feet deep across the entire balcony. They have great views of the wake because you look directly down at the water. There also is little wind and it is great to relax and read. I did not notice much vibration or soot. We just got off the Voyager with an aft balcony and there was substantial vibration when the ship was under full speed and the rear view was impeded with the superstructure and the lower decks which extended toward the rear. The space under the balcony railing on the Dawn is glass and the view was blurred with a covering of salt water. If you can keep it clean it is great to just look down at the water while relaxing on the chaise. It might be worth a few bucks to see if your steward would clean it each day. John L.
