Las Caletas, PV, booked not thru ship

OK, it sounds like all the tours to Las Caletas include the same things. The ship's info(Mariner) does not mention open bar??? So has anyone here from a cruise ship been able to book not thru the cruise ship, and which company? Just trying to save a few $$$$. Or, is the cruise ship tour the same and should we just book it?? Thanks

There is only one company that provides the Las Caletas tour and that is Vallarta Adventures- no one else physically provides the tour, they just sell the tickets for it.

When you reserve this through your cruise ship you are getting the same tour as everyone else, but you are also guaranteed (unless it sells out first) a place and that you will make the tour on time and back to the ship on time. Call it "insurance".

It is not uncommon for people trying to book tours through agents to get a slightly lower price but then they get confused on the ship time/port time/tour time and sometimes miss the tour or getting back on time.

I know, I've done it myself but after a bad experience in St. Thomas-St. John I pretty much pay the extra and book with my ship.

Oh yeah!!! open bar, it was fantastic. The open bar is both on the island and on the boat, watch those pina coladas, I had one in each hand and one on the bottom of the boat between my feet. We had a great time. There is a pretty nice lunch and a nature walk if you are so inclined (DH did it, I sat and watched the water). You can snorkel, get your pic taken with a bunch of birds, a snake and a cute little monkey (she bites, you have been warned). All in all it was a great way to spend time together on our last port visit. I hope you enjoy.

Here's a collection of photos from 2005 & 2006. I'm adding more as I have time.

Enjoy!

Gorgeous pics. I am sold on Las Caletas now. Off to book it from the ship for our excursion. We were wanting the Yelepa tour but you can only book it onboard and there were no tours outside of the ship that worked in the time frame the Spendor is giong to be there. They all left too early. Thanks!!!
