RedRox Posted June 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2009 Hi All, I did some research but couldn't seem to find any specific (Very specific) directions on how to catch a bus from the cruise terminal to Paynes Bay. It seems that there are blue buses (government run) and yellow (not quite the same ;) )... We would prefer the blue ones. Where do we walk to for these? What about the return? Do we just ask the bus driver if the bus goes to Paynes, or are there specific routes? Thanks!
GTJ Posted June 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2009 It is good to see that there are other cruise ship passengers here who desire to use the local public transport system and not rely on the over-priced cruise ship tours! From the cruise ship terminal in Barbados it is a very short walk to the Princess Alice bus terminal. Walk straight out of the cruise ship terminal and its parking lot and you'll be on Princess Alice Highway. You will then go past a traffic circle. Next you will pass Prescod Blvd. to the left, then the Pelican Village tourist shopping center. Just past Pelican Village, on the left side of the highway, is the Princess Alice bus terminal. There you will find buses going north on highway 1 to Paynes Bay. You can find the specific routes and times at the Transport Board website. Do a search for "Paynes Bay" and you'll get the times. On the return wait for the bus on the highway. www.transportboard.com/schedule.php
