We are sailing on the Conquest Feb. 14, 2010(Mardi Gras weekend), and are looking or a hotel to stay with a cruise parking. so far, the Best Western and the Howard Johnson have the best rates. Does anyone have any input on either of these hotels???

We stayed at the Bestwestern a couple of years ago and originally planned on staying there this year. This is my view. It will do, of course it is nothing fancy, the free breakfast was fine and the room was okay. No bells or whistles, but for us, we usually are only staying the night or two and need to be as low on cost as we can get by with. Free cruise parking was nice. Our room was not dirty and we didn't see any bugs, therefore it is acceptable in my book. If you want fancy or really beautiful, this wouldn't be the place.

We stayed at the Best Western prior to the hurricane, and liked it well enough to book reservations there again last december prior to our last cruise...but they cancelled our reservations and we stayed instead at the Holiday Inn...which we also liked...the BW did seem to have a nice free breakfast compared to most free breakfast's, and the room was okay...definately not fancy but not bad...that was almost two years ago, so not sure how it is now :)
