Carnival freedom ???

I will call tomorrow and see if I can change...thanks for the info!!!

Trust me !!!!! Do not get a room over the casino unless you stay up until it closes. All you can hear in your room is the "ding ding ding" from the machines and all the yelling when people win. It made for a very long week for one of the couples in our party. Go far far away!!!!!

I think the extra money for oceanview is worth it, but I'm not sure how much that is. I was in a couple of interior cabins, and they seemed much smaller than the 185 feet we got in a balcony last year. We seemed to have more cabinet space as well. The oceanview we had on deck 1 this year was larger, as it included the extra 35 square feet that would have been the balcony, so we got 220 sq ft. For 2 people, interior looks ok, but for 3 or more, I would go with the oceanview.

I will be on the Freedom in September. When I booked the Carnival rep mentioned getting a balcony vs an ocean view cabin. So I went with the suggestion. I am one who does much investigation before picking a cabin. Well the balcony cabin we were given was towards the back of the ship. I did switch after reading reviews metioning the noise level at night. It was above one of the clubs/discos. So I called Carnival and was able to switch to a cabin above the Carnival shops. I am feeling much better about this choice. Just looking forward to my first balcony!! :)

I am calling to see what changes are still available we ae only about 30 days out...so if I have to stay I wil manage...but there were open ocenaviews on the second deck... I am not too worried about the size, just the sleep...I have been in a rooms from suite to usually an interior and we sleep really well...since we made the choice of cruising more for less room and window I am OK with that...I just am afraid of too much noise...thanks for everyone's input.;)

You will love the balcony. I dont think I could ever go below a balcony cabin category now. It makes your room feel so much larger. We are on the Sept 6 sailing as well...looking forward to it. Our cabin is on deck 7...mid ship.

If noise is the only issue, DO NOT get a room with a connecting door. (Well, unless you also booked the connecting cabin.) We had a room with a connecting door, and they are not very soundproof. A 3 year old that whined and screamed whenever he was in the room, and the parents who came home at night, and seemed to have been drinking heavily, and were pretty noisy.

According to Carnival..where I am located there should be no noise issues...it is the best deck to be on...midship and center...so I think I will stay. He told me Lido would have more noise. I hope he is right...thanks everyone for their thought You have all been a great help...now I can get onto fun things...

How many cruises do you have to sail on Carnival...to be a platinum member??? Do they consider the cruises you took on other lines...

I know I am getting so excited!! I think the first thing I will do when I walk into our cabin is go directly to the balcony. I know I will definately spend time out there. Will see you on the Freedom!!! Soon!!! :D

I just did the Freedom about 1 month ago. I would not want to be either above or below deck 5. I was one of those that closed the Piano Bar down, and it was always close to 3am. From there, the crowd moved to the Disco. If your room is anywhere near the Piano Bar or the Disco, you will be hearing some noises.

I usually try to be sandwiched between 2 decks of rooms. I'd rather walk more, than to hear lots of noises when I feel like sleeping.

Since we just booked this selection is limited, there were norooms on deck 7...just on the lido deck, panorama or the upper deck and the Carnival cruise person recommended the Upper deck we are not above the clubs just the beginning of the casino...he said it was the best room...and noise should not be an issue...I hope.

Anyone been on Freedom...any recommendations about anything...
