stacyb44 Posted June 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2009 For those of you who have been to Alaska, when the weather is predicted to be a 60% chance of showers, is it typically rainy all day long? Or is it off and on? We are leaving this Friday and Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau are all calling for a 40-60% chance of showers. Just curious in terms of what to except. I realize that it varies and no one can predict the weather, but looking to hear from those that have been. Thanks!
bluenoser2 Posted June 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2009 We just got back from our Alaska cruise, and I can say that when the forecast said 30% of rain there was 100% rain for a good part of the day (Ketchikan - no big surprise) - off and on, sometimes light, sometimes more, for most of the morning. We didn't let it stop us from walking everywhere - we just changed clothes when we got back to the ship!
luvlake Posted June 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2009 Other side of story. We were in Alaska in 2007 and they predicted 60% chance of rain for all week on the Weather Channel. We had one day of storms at sea, beautiful and sunny the rest of the week. Key word is be prepared!:)

98Charlie Posted June 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2009 Cruised Alaska in mid-Sept., 2006. Weather forecast predicted 30 - 50% chance of rain for each port. Never saw a drop of rain until we returned to Seattle.:D Dianne
