Legend or Valor? Please Help Me Choose

Recommended Posts

I have never been on the Legend but I have been on the Miracle (one of the Legend's sister ships) and I have been on the Valor. I have to COMPLETELY agree with the previous poster. The lay out is SO MUCH EASIER to navigate on the Miracle than it was on the Valor. The Valor is a bigger ship. I saw go for the Legend, hands down.

Thank you both. I was kind of leaning toward the Legend, but wanted to hear from people who had experienced either or both before I made up my mind. It's good to know that the Legend is easier to navigate. I have sailed on the Glory and loved her, but did get lost a couple of times, so I'm guessing the Valor would be the same in terms of navigation.

I went on the Legend and now I am going on the Valor. Not sure that it makes that much of a difference between either shipl. Perhaps the Legend might be easier to get around but if you are in a good place on both ships does it make that much of a difference? If you were at the bottom of the Legend and a good place on the Valor and the price was cheaper, then you might decide on the Valor.

I did like leaving from Tampa better than leaving from Miami though so, maybe that should be taken into consideration.

Hi, sailed the Legend 4 times and again next month. Sailed the Valor twice. The Legend is easier to navigate and the smaller size is great, means smaller lines at the buffet areas and the the Tendor ports. Also anytime dining is available now on the legend.

Valor has the big screen, that I love. Also like the tiered pool areas.

As you can see both are great. Sorry not much more help.

If you have sailed on Glory you should try Legend. Glory and Valor are the same ship save the decor. Both are fine ships and we would happily sail either but you should try a Spirit class ship and see how they compare. Some people love one type over the other, perhaps you will sail Legend and wish you had sailed Valor...on the other hand you won't know without trying one.

The biggest differences I see in the two types of ships are the Promenade deck club/casino venues on Conquest class ships being so well organized. The nightlife is much more organized and hence more vibrant on these ships. On the other hand on a seven day itinerary with four port days and just two sea days I'm not likely to be burning the midnight oil. I prefer the Lido deck setup on Spirit class ships. More space is available on deck relative to the passenger load and the ship itself has a much less crowded feel. I'm not trying to favor one ship over the other, I can only say how each ship design impacts what I am looking for in a cruise. Try them both and decide for yourself.

Having sailed both, I prefer the Legend for the reasons that other posters have stated. I really don't care for the stadium style lido deck of the Conquest Class ships, nor do I like having a floor blocked by the Galley. I loved the dual pool layout on the Legend, and it's more intimate spaces.

I do agree that the Legend was a bit more sedate trip. We cruised both ships back to back years in early March...the college crowd was huge on the Valor, not so much on the Legend. But we are not huge nightlife people.

Also, I prefer Cozumel to Costa Maya...much more to do, though having seen both, I would go back to either.

This will be my first cruise and I chose the Legend. Now that I have booked I almost wish I chose the Valor. I know it is going to be lots of fun regardless but in looking at the role calls, the Valor does look like it will be a better partying ship than the Legend.

O well I guess I will make the most out of it and say for the week that im on the Legend they will have to change the name to the Partying ship of the Carribean:cool:... LOL

I absolutely loved being on Legend last month. Thought the adult-only pool (Lido Aft) was wonderful - no kids running around screaming their heads off! Loved that they had "anytime dining" - could eat when we wanted with the people we wanted to. Never felt lost on board, and it didn't feel as if there were a million people on board.

Hope this helps!

I've been on both ships, Legend once and Valor twice. Sailing on the Legend out of Tampa is nice, and going under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge is a plus. I sort of lean to the Valor since I have a disabled parking permit and can park free at the Port of Miami.

Hey, that saves me $140 for a 7 day cruise. :D Some posters have complained about having to go up or down on the Valor since the restaurants block a couple of decks. No big deal to me. One of the things I REALLY like about Valor is the fish and chips restaurant, one deck up from Rosie's and the deli on the same deck as Rosie's. Great places for lunch. Other than that, both ships are excellent and you'll have a great cruise no matter which you decide upon. ;)
