SB2788 Posted July 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2009 Hi, I will be sailing on the Legend (8/23) and was wondering in case of emergencies, is there a way my work or family members could get a hold of me on the ship. I do not plan on using e-mail or leaving my mobile phone turned on during the cruise or in ports. I will however be using phone cards while in port to call back to the US. Does Carnival have some sort of direct number people on land can call to reach guests on the ship? Thanks!
*Mach* Posted July 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2009 Yep... from the Carnival FAQs... Can I receive phone calls onboard?Friends and family may call guests onboard via Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN) Shore-to-Ship telephone service. The rate is $9.50 per minute from the United States; additional long distance charges may apply from outside the United States. The caller needs to have available the ship name and the guest's name. The charges will be applied to the caller's credit card: MasterCard - Visa - American Express - The Discover Card - Diner's Club. 1-877 CCLSHIP (1-877-225-7447) from the U.S. 1-732-335-3284 from Canada and outside the U.S. Additionally, others have stated that folks have called the 1-800-CARNIVAL number and told who ever answered that there was an emergency. Of course, they need to know the name of the ship and the passenger name... :)
