Wonderful time on the Legendpixel.gifOur family just returned from a cruise on the Legend the week of July 5th. We had a wonderful time. I really used comments from the reviews and boards, so want to make sure we reciprocate.

Embarkation was quick and easy.

Saw somewhere on the message boards to pack half of what you originally think you want to take- follow this advice! Plenty of space to store clothes, hide luggage under beds. We had an inside stateroom- plenty of space for everything, bed comes out of the ceiling (pretty cool and kid loved it). I did laundry - $2 wash and $2 dry- easy enough. Our room steward, Hartot (sp?) was wonderful- I don't know how they do it, room was always clean, towels always fresh, always used our names and made us feel very welcome and well taken care of- animal towels were a huge hit- they work very hard !!! We used room service every morning for coffee and juice- they always came on time or even a few minutes early, so no problems for us. We used room service 2 evenings for snacks and they both came within a short and reasonable time frame.

Dinning in Truffles for dinner was great- we had a great wait staff- very nice- knew our names, treated us very well the entire time. Every night the wait staff does a song or dance- fun- menu choices were plenty, always willing to take requests for extra appetizers or requests we made, food in Truffles is good -we had no complaints. It sounds like the meals in the Golden Fleece are amazing- so if you really want a meal to remember try that! We ate breakfast one time in Truffles, good as well. Unicorn Cafe is the self serve area- we ate most breakfast and lunches here- lots of stations to choose different things from, so walk around before you settle in on one line. All the food was good - again no complaints from us. My child ate his weight in ice cream- several stations on Lido deck - yummy!!! Bring a water bottle to use so you can fill up at the drink stations and keep at sun chaise or room with you. Water and lemonade were good, tea does taste like a mix. Coffee was fine- we drink lots, no complaints.

The crew works really hard- everyone was nice and smiled and said hello- no complaints. Camp Carnival was amazing- they keep the kids busy every day and night- child loved it- we loved the fact they kept him busy- wonderful !!! They have lots of lounges and entertainment on board. The shows were all great- loved them all- they have a family one early time and R rated later, always had drink service and seats were easy to get. Music in lounges was great as well. The casino and sports bar do get smokey- but not horrible. We tried to cover every inch of the boat, loved all spaces and entertainment offered, loved the "enchanted forest" area- nice and quiet for relaxing or reading. On "days at sea" the sun chaises do go by about 9 am - so if you want one pool side get there early early- we always went later and had no problems getting them on the sun deck overlooking the pool deck. Again- the crew works hard to have something for everyone to do- you can do as much or as little as you want- they do a great job with everything!

Excursions- Grand Cayman we did Stingray city Safari - 2hours- great time lots of fun- shopped by the port- plenty to look at, then back on board. Tendering was easy- .

We shopped in Cozumel- all the stores are at end of pier- easy.

Belize we did Goffs Cay Snorkel- tender right from boat to Goffs Cay- great time, neat tiny island and snorkeling- tendering is easy- weather was choppy here and some had a bad experience on their tender- I felt really bad for them, think they had bad luck timing and got on at a bad time for weather- we went right after them and we were fine, so don't be discouraged, just wait for weather to calm down before you get on a tender- shops in Belize port are very inexpensive- not the greatest port...

Roatan is a pier- we did Fins and Flippers( a non Carnival tour)- loved it, highly recommend it- right there off bow of ship is private island- shopping at port is limited but nice.

Disembarking was easy!!! We did self assist and packed on Sunday morning after we went and had breakfast. The gangway was open by 7:30am- we weren't even ready to leave yet !! We headed down about 8am and were off the ship, through customs and in our car driving away by 8:15am- really- couldn't believe how fast it all happened!! The valet parking people were great! Easy!

My child cried all morning because he didn't want to leave the ship or all the great crew members that felt like great new friends to him !

Thanks to all of you for your great advice- it helped us plan and know what to expect on our cruise- I'd be happy to answer any questions to return the favor!
