Well-Being Package on Veendam

Me again! Could someone please explain how the well-being package works. Can you tell me about the alpha capsule and the hydro pool/thermal suite. Is it worth paying for this package? We're on a long cruise and figured this would give me "something else" to do on Sea Days. Is it worth it to book before we go, or will there be specials there on the ship? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks Dutch, I've read that! : ) I just don't understand why it costs so much! I figured I must be missing something! I need some anecdotal evidence to whether or not it's worth the cost... that's all : )

Alpha capsule is (I THINK) about $100 for a session...

The massages all hover a little over $100

For a package it's cheaper, but the hydropool/thermal suite is $40/day if not getting a cruise-long discount...

Hope that helps. Ship Services might be able to give a more precise breakdown

It is a lovely package - the fruit plate every day was a lovely treat. Be aware though that you are just pre-paying for the spa elements, not pre-booking them. If you arrive late and all the weekly spa passes are sold already then you will just get OBC for that aspect of the package. So you do need to go straight to the spa and get your name on their list for the spa pass. On the plus side this flexibility works both ways: if you don't use all the components of the package, you get OBC for the unused parts, and if you want to upgrade the basic massage to a specialist treatment you just pay the difference.

Could you tell us the price you were quoted?

I still don't get it.

So I pay for the well-being package, which gives me ACCESS to the spa? 1 spa treatment... fitness classes... fruit... robe... hydro pool (what is this?)... thermal suite (what is this?)... and 1 alpha capsule treatment (what is this?). I guess with the spa treatment and whatever this alpha capsule is, $369 doesn't sound TOO bad.

Do you girls do this? Is it worth $369? I'm sure on a 20 day cruise (well, we're only doing the first 15 days - long story!) I'll be buying an additional massage or two... but the other things sound intriguing!

  • 1 month later...

I don't understand how you could NOT get the hydro pool/thermal suite pass if you pre-book the wellness package. I would think that it would be reserved for you, otherwise what is the point of pre-booking it? When I pre-book, I expect to have to book appointments for spa treatments, etc. but I do expect to be able to do the spa treatments. I am considering ordering the wellness package for one person, but this is making me re-think pre-booking it.
