How cold on the balcony

If the weather is nice (70's) - how cold is it on an open (mini-suite balcony) during the day when the ship is sailing - not counting the glacier day. Does my mother need to be bundled up to sit on the balcony and read?

It depends on the time of day. We were on a south bound cruise 7-4 and it was cool out on the balcony with the ship moving. I wore a jacket to sit outside most of the time. If we were in port it was cool in the morning so I put my jacket on and went outside before heading off to breakfast. They have blankets outside on deck for the passangers who want to sit outside if that's any help.

I was on this same cruise and we used our balcony all the time. We did have 4 mini-suites with balcony doors open and had the best time visiting with each other.

I would advised checking out deck blankets at the first of the week and keeping them handy in your room. Also I found one minute a jacket would be nice and then next minute I didn't need it. We also had the most tremendous weather but each cruise can be different and each person has a different temperature tolerance. Just be prepared!:)
