Digby Scallops - Restaurant in Halifax or Saint Johns NB

Recommended Posts

I must admit that I am a die hard lobster lover and plan to have fresh when we are in Bar Harbor Maine. My DH is a die hard sea scallop lover, and I ma looking for any recommendations for a restaurant that specializes in Digby Scallops where I can take him for lunch? Does not need to be fancy, in fact would prefer a place where the locals dine. We will be in Halifax on Tuesday 9/29 and in Saint John NB on Wednesday 9/30. I have heard the scallops are "deep fried" something we do not have in Illinois, so I am especially intrigued about that.:p

Ah---Digby Scallops---the big ones!!!

You could try Billy's Seafood or Steamers in Saint John. In Halifax Salty's on the waterfront has great scallops.

I also enjoy the scallops at the Falls Restaurant right beside the bridge over the Reversing Falls in Saint John.

www.billysseafood.com This restaurant is located at the uphill end of the City Market, between the exit doors. It is not large so a reservation would be in order on a cruise ship day.

Steamers is located just across the street from the Pugsley Cruise Terminal.
