We're going on a Princess cruisetour and I was wondering about paying for food on the train. Do they only take cash or can we use credit cards?

 

Also, the laundry onboard the ship -- do the machines take coins or do we have to swipe the room card somehow? I'm trying to figure out how much cash to take with us.

The laundries on Princess require cash. They are coin operated, normally $1 to wash and $1 to dry. There is a change machine in the laundry room but if it is empty, try the purser's desk. Detergent and softener are also $1 each.

 

You might consider taking the Purex 3 in 1 sheets that go from washer to dryer and have soap, softener, and some static cling for the dryer.

Yes, you can use your credit card for food and drinks on the train. Not a problem.
