Transportation from airport to dock--Tampa

What's the best way to get to the dock from the airport in Tampa? I know I can book something thru Carnival, but it seems pretty expensive. There are 3 of us.

We took a cab from our hotel which was right by the airport and it was only $20 for three of us. The airport is not that far away from the port.

 

It was nice, we got dropped off right at the area where they take our luggage and then just walked right up to board.

Taxis cost 20 dollars plus tip, especially if they load up your luggage and unload it at the port. Just walk outside the baggage claim area and there should be several taxis lined up, including suvs and minivans. It's maybe a 15-20 minute drive to the port area.

We just went through Tampa this past Feb. for a cruise. Almost all car rental agencies offered a shuttle service from the airport to the port. While we had rented a car outbound we found they did not really ask if you had a rental and could have just walk up and said your looking for a ride to the port. Coming back we did not have a rental but we just walked up to one of the agency shuttle buses and got in line. Again we were not questioned and were shuttled to our terminal (as part of his drop off route). Take note though that the buses from the port to the terminal on arrival day will be packed and if you don't have a rental you may have to wait a shuttle or two. Our agency bus was very full but we seen another competitor's bus not so full so we walked over to them and got on with no problem. It worked great!
