Mayan Palms

Has anyone recently been to Costa Maya and went on a dive with Mayan Palms? My DW and I are going in January and we really don't like going on ship excursions (too many people and feel like cattle in a cattle car).

Any reports??

If you consider 2007 recent, then I have.:) On the upside, the resort and diving were excellent! We are going back this Jan on RCI's Liberty. When my wife and I were there we were the only divers there so we got very personal service. The dive boat was well equipped, which was nice because when we first got there, I saw an old wooden boat with the MP logo anchored off shore. I thought 'surely we're not going out on THAT!':) Nope, just there for decoration.:)

If there was a downside, it was the getting there. Unless they have changed the rules, the taxis that can take you there are almost a quarter mile from the cruise port gates. That's a bit far when lugging all of your gear on a warm day. They do however drop you off at the gate, which is welcome after all that diving.:)

In all, an excellent stop. A++ would book again.:D

I appreciate the reminder. I was just testing the waters since January to see if anyone else had been there. One questions concerns my DW thought....Are there plenty of taxis at Mayan Palms to get us back to the ship on time?

When we arrived at the resort, we told Pedro what time we wanted to head back to the ship and he called a taxi when it needed to come and it was there right on time. We made sure that we would have plenty of time to return to the ship.
