Cab from dock to beach?

Can you take a cab from the dock to get to a good beach? That's what we usually do at the Eastern Caribbean ports.

check out bannister island...need a ferry or water taxi, not a cab.

there are some resorts that offer beach access..but the area, around belize city is not the nice beaches you know from your other island beaches. belize is great for adventure tours...well knows for cave-tubing and mayan ruins. to get to a good beach, you need to get away to one of the cayes (islands) nearby.
