Hotels near restaurants in Miami

Can anyone recommend a hotel that is family-friendly and hopefully walking distance to some restaurants or offer free breakfast? We're looking for a prenight and post night for our cruise and I have never been to Miami.

There are tons of recs here if you just roll thru the past week of posts. For the precruise, you could stay at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami or Intercontinental across the street from Bayside Mall. Lots of restuarants there. Safe walk and you can catch a boat ride there for the kids. Close to port in a.m... by cab ten dollars. Airport hotels will be cheaper buut not much nearby. You could look at Hampton Inn and other Blue Lagoon area hotels. That's nearer the airport, but in a decent area.

 

I wouldn't stay in the same place post cruise. Much depends on what you want to do with your time.

 

Costs vary tremendously by season. Do yuour research.
