Romoad Posted August 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2009 I am arriving in the Tampa area 3 days before my cruise this month. I am going to rent a car at the airport. Is there a place I can return a car near the Tampa cruise terminal? If so what rental company?
RAE6 Posted August 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2009 I am arriving in the Tampa area 3 days before my cruise this month. I am going to rent a car at the airport. Is there a place I can return a car near the Tampa cruise terminal? If so what rental company? I am the reverse of you...renting a car after I get off the boat to return home. But anyway, during my research I learned that National shares a shuttle with Alamo from the airport to the port. Also, Hertz has a drop off service @ the port of tampa but it is really serviced by the Marriott Waterside location here are the addresses: Marriott Waterside location 700 South Florida Ave 813-226-4025 phone # hours M-F 0800-1800/ Sa-Su 0900-1300 Port of Tampa 651 Channelside Drive 813-226-4205 phone # (note the same as Marriott location) hours M 0730-1200 Tu-W CLOSED TH 0730-1200 Fri CLOSDED Sa-Su 0730-1200 I hope this helps others as well. ;)
TheARTraveler Posted August 9, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2009 I've been trying to find the same info. I will fly into Tampa Sat pm, want to pick up a car there, will only be using it a few hrs Sun morning then want to return to the port Sun afternoon before the cruise leaves. The Hertz office at the Marriot closes at 1pm on Sunday. Dollar also has a free shuttle from the airport but that would waste too much time running back to the airport and it only runs every 30 min. Enterprise, famous for dropping you off, only does that from it's city location (not the airport) which is not open on Sunday. If anyone has any other ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.
