Dorset Cruiser Posted August 7, 2009 #26 Share Posted August 7, 2009 They charge a fortune on the ship for bottled water and I don't like the taste of the ship's water. I am not too sure about the saline content of the ship's water. DH who takes absolutely no extra salt on his food but does drink the ship's water found that he had swollen ankles after our January cruise. He plans to drink bottled water on our next cruise and see what happens to his ankles. I take two or three large bottles on with me and then replenish with bottles at each port we call at. It is much cheaper to buy in port - for instance, I paid 19 cents for a large bottle in Livorno supermarket compared with whatever the ships now charge - $1.50 at least. TomCruises Posted August 7, 2009 #27 Share Posted August 7, 2009 I suppose if one is that anal about their water consumption, they should consider magellan.com and purchase a water bottle with a "BUILT IN" filtration system for "FREE" unlimited "BOTTLED" water!Beats the heck out of carring a "CASE" of water aboard the cruise.
romeyvanb Posted August 7, 2009 #28 Share Posted August 7, 2009 I am glad to hear we can carry on a case of water. Since I will be leaving from L.A. to the Mexican Riveria I am excited about the fact. I drink Arrowhead lime sparkling water which I can't find on the ship and since I am not flying this is a bonus to bring on board. Since DH drinks a ton of it too, I may have to bring 2 cases. ;)
