CRUZINFOOL Posted August 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2009 What is the current status of Beach-it at St. Catherines beach? We heard that the buildling had been demolished from one source, but another said that it was being renovated. Yet another said that nothing had changed from last year. We'll be going to Bermuda in a few weeks and may go to St. Catherines beach if there are facilities. Thanks Ron

jollyjones Posted August 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2009 Beach It is closed It is not only closed; it is demolished, gone, no trace of it remaining. St Catherines beach is open, unsullied sand.
mag Posted August 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2009 It is not only closed; it is demolished, gone, no trace of it remaining. St Catherines beach is open, unsullied sand. Thank you for the info. We were there last year and it was kinda sad to see the boarded up building.

Staraj Posted August 9, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2009 There was a food stand and bar on the beach itself. Is that gone? We usually stop there for a quick lunch. Where did the parrot go??????
jimswims Posted August 15, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2009 My sister was over that way on Tuesday. She was talking to someone over there (Cab driver maybe) who said that the now demolished hotel, St. Catherines, and St. George Golf club were all bought by a hotel chain (Hyatt or Hilton I think). It sounds like the hotel chain is trying to get ready to put a resort with a golf course and private beach there.
