Cruising Single - double port charges

Just wondered if anyone was aware of the fact that Carnival is now, not only charging 200 percent of the cruise price for singles but also double charging for the port charges. I have cruised (usually with a bunch of friends) for the last few years in a cabin by myself. I love it. I understand that 200 percent of the cruise price might be fair BUT double the port charges??? I thought port charges were based and directed by the ports where the shipped stopped. Is this legal? Anyone got any thoughts on this subject?

Dear Single,

If you book a category 1a aboard a Carnival Ship.. you will pay 150% of port and fares. This will save you 25%!

If you check out MSC cruise line, they are now offering a special Single Rate on many of their ships. Port is limited to ONE TIME ONLY!
