N926 Change of itinerary !

We have just been informed about a change in itinerary on our cruise aboard Ventura on 7/11/09.

 

The change is swapping the port of Cayo Leventado for Catalina Island.

 

Has anyone been to both these destinations and do they think it is a good or a bad swap ?

As I understand it this is the day of the beach BBQ! The ship anchors off shore and the tenders take you over to a secluded beach for the day.

 

My parents did it a couple of years ago and said it was amazing to see the crew take all the food, drink and equipment over to cater for everyone.

 

So I don't suppose it will make much difference as they are both part of the Dominican Republic, have at look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalina_Island,_Dominican_Republic for more info.

 

If you look at the cruise planner no excursions can be booked this day anyway.
